Casey Stoner was not sure he could win the MotoGP Czech Republic, Sunday, August 14, 2011. Repsol Honda rider claimed was not sure of his RC212V motor abilities.
Throughout the weekend until the qualifying round at Brno Circuit, Stoner having trouble with his bike. The Australian rider was always losing faster than team-mate at Honda's Dani Pedrosa.
Even warming up to several hours before the race, Stoner was still not comfortable with the bike. 2007 MotoGP world champion was not confident it can win at Brno.
However, everything changed when the race took place. Especially after Dani Pedrosa crashed in Turn 4 when entering the seventh lap. Stoner claimed more determined to race before finally winning
"Business changes in the heating does not run smoothly, so I am a little worried about entering the race and did not know how competitive we are. The speed we are no better than qualifying, I just appear more insistent than in practice," Stoner said as quoted by Autosport.
"I do not have much confidence in the bike all weekend, so I decided to race more insistent and did what I have pointed out before," said Stoner.
Success in Brno into Stoner's sixth victory this season, and made it 32 points ahead of Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha) atop the drivers standings.
